In November 2007, Norbert Cheeks, Sr., was approached after giving a stewardship presentation at his church by a gentleman who conducted a Re-Entry Program at the Arlington County Jail in Arlington VA. The man was impressed with Norbert’s presentation and felt it would be beneficial to bring Norbert in to speak to his group. Norbert’s participation in the program was such a success that he was asked to return, and he continued to speak to groups at the Arlington County Jail for three years.
Having found his passion for speaking, Norbert founded Reach One Teach One in 2014 as a volunteer organization.

Reach One, Teach One’s powerful speaking programs are designed to have a major impact on the the transformation of the lives of at-risk youth around the country. Young people in American society are so often exposed to violence and so rarely encouraged to fully develop their full potential. Reach One, Teach One motivations seeks to help youth raise their level of consciousness and help them strive to be all they are created to be.

Norbert has spoken to groups of all kinds including, but not limited to:

• Boy’s clubs
• Boxing clubs
• Top Teens of America for Prince George’s County Chapter Meeting
• Washington, D.C Police Programs for At-Risk Kids
• Cheltenham Youth Facility
